From Cape Town

Take the N7 past Springbok to Vioolsdrif, the South African border post (680km).

Book out of South Africa at Vioolsdrif and into Namibia at Noordoewer. On the form at the Namibian border post, write "Amanzi Trails" under 'physical address'. Once your passport has been stamped, pay your vehicle charge.

Continue along the B1 (N7) for 2km and turn left at the C13. Follow the tar road for 10.5km and turn left at the "Amanzi Trails" sign. Continue along the road for 2.5km, past the farmhouse and turn left at the next 'Amanzi Trails' sign. Follow the road until you reach the green lawns of the campsite. Park where indicated by the signs or as directed by an Amanzi Trails member of staff.

From Johannesburg

Take the N14 through Upington past Springbok. Take the N7 north to Vioolsdrif, the South African border post (1340km).

Book out of South Africa at Vioolsdrif and into Namibia at Noordoewer. On the form at the Namibian border post, write "Amanzi Trails" under 'physical address'. Once your passport has been stamped, pay your vehicle charge.

Alternative route from Johannesburg (includes 93 km of a good gravel road)

Take the N14 to Upington. From Upington travel 132 km on the N10 to Nakop, the South African border post. Book out of South Africa. From Nakop, the N10 becomes the B3. Travel along the B3 to Ariamsvlei (17 km), the Namibian border post, and book into Namibia. On the form at the Namibian border post, write "Amanzi Trails" under 'physical address'. Once your passport has been stamped, pay your vehicle charge.

Travel a further 114 km on the B3 to Karasburg. At Karasburg take the route numbered 22 to the B1 (93 km). From the B1 travel 51 km south to Noordoewer. At the Engen Garage, turn right onto the C13. Follow the tar road for 10.5km and turn left at the "Amanzi Trails" sign. Continue along the road for 2.5km, past the farmhouse and turn left at the next "Amanzi Trails" sign. Follow the road until you reach the green lawns of the campsite. Park where indicated by the signs or as directed by an Amanzi Trails member of staff.

From Windhoek

Take the B1 through Keetmanshoop to Noordoewer and turn right onto the C13 (800km). Follow the tar road for 10.5km and turn left at the "Amanzi Trails" sign. Continue along the road for 2.5km, past the farmhouse and turn left at the next "Amanzi Trails" sign. Follow the road until you reach the green lawns of the campsite. Park where indicated by the signs or as directed by an Amanzi Trails member of staff.

Border Post Requirements

• Passports essential for Non-Namibians
• Temporary passports can be obtained in the case of last minute bookings
• Application for South African passports must be made 3 months in advance
• Those travelling on non-South African passports must contact Namibia Tourism at
    +27 21 422 3298 regarding visa requirements
• For general South African passport inquiries, contact Home Affairs at +27 21 468 4500
• Road permit payable at Namibian border post (contact Namibia Tourism for current
    charges)
• ZA stickers required (available from the AA)
