With Orange River camping, there is no need to keep chasing adventure. Our trips are designed to bring you the experience, fun and relaxation you need all on one silver platter! Those who have already had the privilege of joining us will attest to the ‘must’ of this memorable experience.

The Amanzi River Camp has 24 spacious, shady and grassed campsites equipped with everything you might need for an enjoyable camping trip. Our sites vary in size, accommodating anything from 1 – 4 vehicles with additional space for caravans and trailers.

We offer clean ablution blocks that are kitted out with hot showers and good water pressure. There are several sinks, cold water only, located near all sites and a scullery which offers hot water for washing dishes and cleaning laundry.

It’s time for Orange River camping…

Our camping site is situated along the northern banks of the Orange River. This spot is only 16 kilometres downstream from the Noordoewer border post, making it a fairly easy location to reach along the N7 from Cape Town.

This destination is packed with everything you could desire for a true adventure along the Orange River. Our facilities offer a spot where visitors can purchase essentials such as meat, ice and wood to make their evenings in this serene location even more wonderful! Additionally, our site is equipped with a well-stocked bar. We suggest that campers come equipped with all other necessary supplies, though should they forget an item, a local general dealer can be found in Noordoewer only 10 kilometres away.

Top Tips for our River Rafting and Canoeing

If river rafting is the main reason for your visit to our Orange River camping site, there are a few things you will want to remember to ensure that your trip is the best it can be.

Dress appropriately

While you will be in your raft for the length of your trip along the river, the chances of you not getting wet are very slim. Be sure you pre-empt this with your choice of attire. Synthetic materials are an excellent choice due to their ability to dry quickly. Closed, lace-up shoes are also a better choice over flip flops, which can easily get lost in the river.

Leave your valuables behind

For any outdoor adventure, the general rule is to leave valuables you would like to keep behind. Items such as jewellery are easy to lose track of while rafting and hence are safer when left at home.

Always listen to your guide

Whether it is your first or fifth time, listening to your rafting guide and following their instructions are essential to ensure your utmost safety.
