River Rafting Information

• Winds its way through the rugged and dramatic Richtersveld Mountains
• Is family-friendly and no previous paddling experience is required
• Can be paddled throughout the year
• Begins 16km downstream of the South African / Namibian border post (Vioolsdrif / Noordoewer)
• Is a 3 / 3 ½ or 4-day trip to Aussenkehr (60 km) or Grootpens (90 km) depending on water level
• Consists of 4 or 5 night’s camping on the river banks
• Can be customised to accommodate your required number of days and distance

• Includes all meals from dinner on the night of arrival to breakfast on the day of departure (snacks excluded)
• Includes coffee and tea (other drinks excluded)
• Personal crockery and cutlery to be brought along
• Can be adapted for self-catering packages (please inquire)

• 2-person Indian Mohawk canoe (fibreglass) or inflatable raft (also known as a “croc”) crocs are to be arranged in advance
• 4 x 25-litre buckets per canoe
• 1 x cooler box (45- litre) with ice per canoe
• Life jackets
• Paddles

• Over 100 bird species have been identified by Amanzi guides
• Vervet Monkey, Chacma Baboon, Ground Squirrel, Cape Clawless Otter, Smith’s Red Rock Rabbit, Black-backed Jackal, Steenbok, Klipspringer, Cape Monitor (“Likkewaan”)
• Fascinating rock formations
• San rock engravings
• Calcium fluoride (fluorspar) mine (disused)
• Fishing: catfish, yellowfish, mudfish

A reservation will be made upon receipt of the following documentation:

• A completed booking form per individual / couple / family
• A completed indemnity form per participant
• Proof of payment of deposit
